Everything Rosy at Furness

The latest meeting of Furness Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners No 375 saw Paul Rose elevated into the order.
Brian Davey, Les Preston, Paul Rose and Peter Thompson.
Paul is a retired security controller and now spends much of his time running a sanctuary for owls. In fact he has found retirement a bit of a hoot! He is a member of Jubilee Mark Lodge.
Russ Greenhow, Paul Rose and Bob Morrish.
The ceremony was conducted by Worshipful Commander Les Preston with assistance from Peter Thompson, who explained the signs, and Alan Jones who presented the working tools. All three played their part well.

Paul was admirably escorted throughout the ceremony by senior deacon Russ Greenhow with support from Bob Morrish as junior deacon.
Since the last meeting Brian Davey has been appointed to Grand Rank and to acknowledge this he was saluted. Brain was then called into service to lead the salutations to lodge director of ceremonies David Smith who had been appointed to Provincial Grand Rank a few days earlier.
Alan Jones and Geoff Biddulph.
David is the present Worshipful Commander of Philadelphia Lodge of Installed Royal Ark Mariners No 1646 and fellow Furness Mark member Bill Joughin has just been elected to follow him in that role. Somewhat of an honour not only for them but also Furness Mark Lodge.
David Smith congratulates Bill Joughin on being the winner of this years
“Douglas Fairbanks Jnr Lookalike Competition” !
Alan Jones was once again in action as his explained the Grand Lodge Certificate to Geoff Biddulph who had been elevated at the previous meeting.

At the meal following the ceremony Paul commented, “It was an excellent ceremony and it was great to see so many smiling faces. I am sure I will enjoy my time as a member.”
